William Lamson (1977 Arlington, Virginia) is an artist who addresses|issues of masculinity, amateurism, science and the quixotic quest for|personal heroism that accompanies these subjects. While Lamson’s video|works have often found him playfully and strenuously interacting with|his natural environment, his work brings to bear the forces of nature|in the act of drawing and mark-making. Lamson explores time as a|subject, a physical material, and a form of measurement.
Lamson's recent exhibitions including presentations at Artspace, New|Haven, USA; ACC Weimar, Germany, the Museum of Fine Arts, Santa Fe,|USA, Socrates Sculpture Park, Long Island City, USA; P.S.1 Long Island|City, USA and the Brooklyn Museum, New York, USA.

Jules Marquis encapsulates the omnivorous taste of that lo-fi|curatorial forum. Working with and through sculpture, film,|performance, installation, appropriation, and many other media,|Marquis has created a body of work that is a balance of opposites;|political and disengaged, holistic and site-specific, linear and|circular. Jules Marquis is the collaborative work of Colin Snapp|(1982, Lopez Island, USA) and Daniel Turner (1983, Portsmouth, USA).|'Collaboration allows for one to venture into other arenas that go|generally untapped. It gives you a tremendous amount of perspective on|your own practice while allowing to explore another. One becomes|almost bilingual through the integration of once separate mediums.' Marquis's recent exhibitions include: White Cube, London, United|Kingdom; The Centre for Contemporary Art Ujazdowski Castle, Warsaw|Poland; White Columns, New York, USA; Martos Gallery, New York, USA;|The Whitney Museum, New York, USA; The Future Gallery, Berlin,|Germany; Jericho Ditch, Isle of Wight, USA.

Jani Ruscica (1978, Savonlinna, Finland) approaches his subjects like|an anthropologist or sociologist, posing questions about our very|being in the world — who we are, why we are what we are and what it|all means. He is interested in places, cultural identities and how we|define and communicate personal belonging in an increasingly mono- cultural and global society. The work of Ruscica explores the|intersection between cinema, video art, theatre and performance. Ruscica's recent exhibitions include: Helsinki Art Museum Meilahti,|Finland; Found in Translation - Chapter L, Casino Luxembourg; KW|Kunstwerke Berlin, Germany; 6th Liverpool Biennial, 2010, 5th Momentum|Biennial, Moss, Norway; Kiasma Museum of Contemporary Art, Helsinki,|Finland; Bonniers Konsthall, Stockholm, Sweden. He has also had|screenings of his work in institutions including Tate Modern, London,|Centre Pompidou, Paris and MoMA, New York.

We are pleased to invite you to the opening on Saturday April 21 from|17:00 till 21:00.
